Speculative Reading Tastes.
Let’s talk genre. I love speculative fiction. My favorites are high fantasy, epic fantasy, urban fantasy, dystopian, and hard science fiction. As you can see, my tastes run to both ends of the speculative spectrum.
Although, there are some subgenres I don’t enjoy so much. Vampires and shape-shifters don’t usually keep my interest. I also struggle with horror. This is bound to influence my writing, but it gives me a lot to go at.
As a teenager, my favorite books were Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and Arthur C. Clarke’s The City and the Stars.
